K. I. S. S. I. N. G.

I read a recent article that talked about the interesting details and benefits of kissing. I’ll be honest…I forget to kiss. Plus, kissing leads to things I don’t always have time for….so over the last several years, we seem to kiss less and less. I have already been thinking that I missed that and wanted to remind myself that kissing was like holding hands, only more fun, and that we should try it more. Of course we kiss goodbye and all that, but I mean something a little more intimate and a little more….deliberate maybe.

Apparently, there are 100 times more nerve endings in your lips than in your fingertips says Krista Bloom, Ph.D., author of The Ultimate Compatibility Quiz. That’s just good to know. The article also confirmed that forty percent of men felt that a long hot bath, I mean kiss would send them to the bedroom with a twinkle in their eye. Cosmo Poll, April 2009

William Cane, the author of The Art of Kissing and a real life kissing coach refers to closing the “A-frame” as an great way to crank up the heat in the room (economical too!) It’s when you close any gaps that remain between your waist and his while embraced in a kiss. Ahhhh, how sweet.

And don’t for a minute think you are the one doing all the work here. According to a study by the University at Albany, men initiate open-mouth, that’s called French people, kissing to transfer libido-boosting testosterone to their partner. So when he’s getting a little more aggressive, it’s not just about his desire – he wants you to be a bit more amorous too. See ladies, he’s just thinking of you.

And last but not least during the middle ages, people signed legal contracts by making an “X” on the document and then kissing it to pledge their honor. That’s how XX became shorthand for a kiss. Thank you Tamar Schreibman the author of Kissing: The Complete Guide.

So, while I’m piecing my first date for this experiment together, I’ll be putting in a little more face time with my man.
